Organic Makeup is a Safe Alternative

Organic makeup is becoming more popular as time goes by. This is mainly as a result of rising awareness among consumers on the dangers posed on one’s health by some of the chemicals that are found in most beauty products. There have been concerns raised about the safety of some of the chemicals used in manufacturing cosmetics on users. For example, dark hair dyes have been found to contain carcinogenic compounds.

As a result of these concerns, there has been a rise in the number of organic cosmetic products in the market. These products do not have any synthetic chemicals, colors and dyes in them, all the ingredients are derived from plants compounds such as sheer butter, macadamia, avocado and jojoba oil, rose wax, anthyllis, carrot and marsh mallow extracts, neem, black tea, palm kennel gycerides vegetable oils and many others.

There is organic lipstick, eye pencil, mascara, foundation, beauty soaps, lip gloss, moisturizer, eye shadow, loose powder, shampoo, conditioners, toothpaste, mouth wash, lip balm, deodorant many other products. Examples of organic products available in the market include; Saffron Rouge, Lavera, Aubrey organics, Couleur Caramel, Logona, SukiColor, Physician’sFormular and many others. Organic cosmetics are gentler on the skin as compared to synthetic ones.

Organic makeup is not less expensive than synthetic ones. In fact one can prepare organic make up at home by using ingredients found in the house. Organic plain rolled oatmeal when ground into small particles can be used as facial scrub; it brightens dark spots, lightens out freckles and marks and also soothes inflammations. Strawberry can be used as an exfoliating agent, face mask as it helps to combat pimples and black heads and it is also a natural antiseptic and skin lightener. There are several ingredients one can use that are present in the house and more details can be obtained by searching online.

Is Every Organic Makeup Product Safe

However, just because a product is labeled “organic” does not automatically mean that it is safe. Even though most plants from which the various compounds have been derived are organically grown, some plants have natural chemicals that are toxic and others can trigger allergies on using. Always read the list of ingredients on the product to check whether there are chemicals that you may be allergic to. It is also advised that when trying out a new product, apply a little portion on a sensitive area like the back of your hand. Give it some time and asses how the skin reacts. If there is a burning sensation, or irritation of any kind, then do not apply the product on your body. This rule still applies when trying out new organic products.

Organic products are available in most stores that deal with cosmetics and other beauty products and you can also find them in online stores like Amazon beauty store among others. Online stores have an image of the product accompanied by a short product description and price. If you have never tried organic makeup on your face then maybe it is time you make a healthy, safe choice and try to use them.
